About W Institute
An innovative learning hub designing modern, hands-on educational programs for children, youth, and adults across metro Detroit.
We Transform Curiosity Into Creation
At W Institute, every learner leaves our studios with a project they can hold, fly, drive, code, cook, or proudly display — experiences you simply won’t find in a traditional classroom.
We specialize in extracurricular classes, after-school programs, camps, and community workshops that blend technology and creativity with critical thinking, collaboration, and local community awareness.
We partner with schools, community organizations, and families to nurture curious, confident, and socially responsible learners who are ready for the future.
Technology & Creativity
Coding, robotics, drones, digital media, and entrepreneurship — learners build real things, not just watch demos.
Critical Thinking & Collaboration
Every project is team-built. Learners practice communication, leadership, and problem-solving alongside technical skills.
Community & Global Awareness
Projects are grounded in local community needs and connected to what’s happening in the world right now.
Instructor Standards
Vetted & Background Checked
All instructors go through an extensive interview process, background checks, and drug testing before joining the team.
Trained & Certified
New instructors shadow experienced instructors until they are qualified to run a class independently. Ongoing training is required.
Continuously Improving
We collect feedback from students, parents, and partners every session to continuously improve quality and safety.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is W Institute? +
W Institute is an innovative learning hub that designs and delivers modern, hands-on educational programs for children, youth, and adults. Our mission is to help learners build real-world skills while creating projects that matter to their communities.
Who are your programs for? +
We serve elementary, middle, and high school students (after-school & summer programs), college students and young adults (workshops & trainings), and educators, parents, and community members (professional development & community courses).
Do students need prior coding or robotics experience? +
No. We design programs for different levels — from complete beginners to advanced learners. Students are placed or guided into the appropriate level based on age, experience, and comfort.
Where are your programs offered? +
We partner with schools, community centers, and local organizations across metro Detroit. Some programs are held at partner schools; others are offered at our Dearborn and Livonia locations. Contact us for current locations and schedules.
How is your approach different from traditional classes? +
We focus on hands-on, project-based learning with real-world applications tied to community issues and global news. Students leave every session having built something — a robot, an app, a film, a campaign, or a prototype — not just a worksheet.
How can schools or organizations partner with W Institute? +
Schools and organizations can collaborate with us to host after-school programs or clubs, launch summer camps, bring in special workshops or speaker series, or co-design custom programs aligned with their community needs. Contact us to discuss a tailored partnership.
Do you offer financial aid or scholarships? +
In many cases, yes. Depending on the program and partnerships, we may offer scholarships, discounts, or sponsored seats. Reach out and ask about available options for your specific program.
How do I enroll a student? +
Enrollment for wCode is done at wcode.co. For other programs launching soon, join our WhatsApp community or contact us directly and we’ll notify you when registration opens.
